Railroads go for two-train Rajdhanis to spare time, increment compartments

New Delhi, Feb 27 (IANS) Aiming to expand the quantity of compartments and spare travel time, the Indian Railways is testing having two trains to pull its Rajdhani Express trains, one in front and the other at the back, to build their speed and spare travel time, a railroad service official said.

"We are trying different things with two electric trains fueling the Hazrat Nizamuddin-Mumbai Rajdhani Express," a senior railroad service official up to date of the improvement told IANS

The authority said that two trains were appended to the Rajdhani Express on February 13 after the Research Design and Standard Organization (RDSO) gave its gesture on February 7.

He said the train spared more than 105 minutes of movement time between New Delhi and Mumbai. The train secured the 1,543 km remove in about than 17 hours from the past 19 hours.

The Rajdhanis are as of now pulled by a solitary train with two diesel-fueled generator vehicles at the back to give cooling and lighting inside the train.
